Erin’s Senior Portraits :: Durham, North Carolina
I don’t know how I got so lucky to be a part of the Murray family. They are all wonderful individuals and I love every single one of them! Erin is Gillian’s cousin. Her family came down to North Carolina to visit a few months ago. So, while they were here, I took some senior portraits of Erin at Duke Gardens. Gillian and Deidre (Gillian’s sister) came along for the ride as well. I had a total blast hanging out with the three of them during Erin’s shoot. I can’t wait until the next family get together!
Meet baby Landon! :: Raleigh, North Carolina
Here is Paul and Laura’s adorable newborn baby! As most newborn shoots, Landon had a good time sleeping through the entire thing. He should definitely catch up on some rest now because Paul and Laura are very active individuals. They will surely keep him a busy bee. I suspect Landon will be just as athletic as his parents and enjoy camping, disc golf, biking, adventure racing, running, hiking, and many more outdoor activities. I look forward to watching him grow!
Chris and Noille’s 7 Year Anniversary!! :: Raleigh, North Carolina
I have known Chris and Noille for quite some time. They are a very lively couple and I knew we were going to have a blast with this photo shoot. It is their SEVEN year anniversary! If you met them, you would probably guess they were on their first year of marriage. I can’t even begin to tell you how easy it is to see they are meant for each other. Their personalities are compatible and they continue to display an enormous amount of passion and love for each other. In other words, there were a lot of kissing photos in this shoot…haha. Hey, nothing wrong with that!!
As you scroll through the blog post, you’ll notice this wasn’t a typical kind of photo shoot. We had some bubbles, flour, and lots of water incorporated into it all. I’m a pisces. I love water…A LOT OF WATER. So, naturally, throwing water on Noille and Chris seemed like a great idea! We only had ten plus takes ;-P If you ask me, I think it was well worth it!
Anyhow, I hope you guys enjoy the post! Have a wonderful week and please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me about a photo shoot of your own!
Nolan :: Raleigh, North Carolina
I was fortunate enough to meet my friends Jessica and Tyler at Pullen Park while they were visiting from out of town. Nolan, their son, recently turned 2 years old! He is full of energy, curious about everything, and loves to spend his time making his parents chase after him! Although we were only at the park for a short period of time, Nolan was able to play in the sandboxes, take a tour of the park on the train, enjoy a boat ride, play on the slides, and took a spin on the carousel. Prior to August, I hadn’t been to Pullen Park in a very long time, but I can tell you now that I have been recently, they have made many wonderful updates. It’s the perfect place to take your kids or just to enjoy a nice picnic with your significant other.
Jessica and Tyler’s friends joined along with their little girl as well and I maybe snapped a few photographs of their family too =) So, if you see a few random photos in the midst of it all, no worries, they are suppose to be there. haha.
Ben and Lindsay’s Engagement :: Raleigh, North Carolina
Yay for Ben and Lindsay’s engagement!!! Their wedding is actually in about a month and a half from now. I’m getting super excited! I met Ben and Lindsay through playing pool at Sharky’s Bar through the American PoolPlayers Association (APA). We all are on the same team, which is good because not only are they awesome at playing pool, they are super competitive. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
During the engagement shoot we had fun strolling around in Umstead Park and visiting the North Carolina Museum of Art. Ben and Lindsay are such a cute couple! They know how to have fun, they work hard in life, and you can tell they belong together. =)
Judith’s Fun Filled Family :: Durham, North Carolina
So, let me give you a quick run down with how this family photo session went: we had some brother biting brother’s hand, turtles biting feet, climbing rocks, bird and turtle watching, walking around the gardens, lots of laughter, all around goofiness, and oh, yes, my sister being dragged into the pond. HAHAHA!!!
Mary and Jason’s Wedding :: Durham, North Carolina :: Wedding Photographer
Mary and Jason’s wedding day was absolutely perfect! Here in the city of Durham, they held their wedding ceremony at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church and their reception at the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science . These locations seemed like the perfect fit for this amazing couple.
Although there were a ton of memorable moments, the ones that stood out to me was the warm passion that exuberated from them as they anticipated each others touch while standing on opposing sides of a tree (this was before their ceremony and they held hands without actually seeing each other), a simple kiss Mary and Jason gave each other moments after walking out of their ceremony, the toasts their siblings gave during the reception with the “oh, dear lord what family have I married myself into” facial expressions (the toasts were some of the funniest toasts I’ve heard), and the outstanding performance Jason gave singing and playing the guitar to his wife. The song was a Dave Matthews Band song called “Loving Wings.” It has the lyrics “I give to you my everything. You’ve given me these loving wings.” It was SO INCREDIBLY sweet.
On top of it all, I was lucky to have my brother-in-law, Thad Lawrence, from 2and3photography come help me photograph Mary and Jason’s special day. He’s always capturing some beautiful photographs. Overall, it was a fantastic day full of wonderful people =)
Baby Aurora :: Fuquay-Varina, NC :: Newborn Photographer
Aurora was my very first newborn photo shoot! She was 1 week old! I love little toes, little noses, little fingers, cute cheeks, and pretty much everything there is to a baby. I was very excited to photograph Aurora. She was an angel during the entire photo shoot and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Bethany, her mom, originally wanted some photographs of Aurora to send to her husband, Matt, who was away and in the military. Luckily, he was able to return for the birth of his daughter. Prior to Aurora’s arrival, Matt painted a beautiful, bright painting for Aurora and her new bedroom. We were able to use the painting as a backdrop for some of the photos, which was perfect! The last photograph of the blog just melts my heart. Since Matt is away from home sometimes, this quote is left on the wall for the occasional reminder: “Life takes you to unexpected places. Love brings you home.”
Jen & Crystal’s Wedding :: Asheville, North Carolina
Jen and Crystal’s wedding day took place at Hidden River Events and was held in one of my favorite places, Asheville, North Carolina. From watching their dogs run around in the field before the wedding, to the super cohesiveness and goofiness of Crystal and her brothers, to the tears in Jen’s eyes when she received her pre-ceremony gift from Crystal, to the carriage ride to and from the ceremony site, the day had many intimate and beautiful moments. I had a blast photographing their wedding day!
