Camille and Carolina’s Family :: Durham, North Carolina

I met Camille and Carolina over a decade ago. They are fun, smart, athletic, and light-hearted individuals living life to the fullest in what better city than NYC (ok, other than Asheville of course. Asheville is #1. Just saying). I was thrilled to hear they were visiting the triangle area and would be bringing the rest of their family, two dogs and their beautiful girl, Noel. I was even more thrilled when they asked me to take their family portrait! Ummm….yes!

We all met at Duke Gardens and spent a few hours strolling through the area. Noel seemed to have had a blast. She played with sticks, climbed trees (with assistance from her parents), rolled down hills, ate cheerios off of stone, played in and climbed up the bamboo, critiqued her Aunt’s push-up form, and did an exercise/stretch routine with her moms. Can you believe it? She’s not yet in grade school, but already partaking in healthy habits.

Chris and Noille’s 7 Year Anniversary!! :: Raleigh, North Carolina

I have known Chris and Noille for quite some time. They are a very lively couple and I knew we were going to have a blast with this photo shoot. It is their SEVEN year anniversary! If you met them, you would probably guess they were on their first year of marriage. I can’t even begin to tell you how easy it is to see they are meant for each other. Their personalities are compatible and they continue to display an enormous amount of passion and love for each other. In other words, there were a lot of kissing photos in this shoot…haha. Hey, nothing wrong with that!!

As you scroll through the blog post, you’ll notice this wasn’t a typical kind of photo shoot. We had some bubbles, flour, and lots of water incorporated into it all. I’m a pisces. I love water…A LOT OF WATER. So, naturally, throwing water on Noille and Chris seemed like a great idea! We only had ten plus takes ;-P If you ask me, I think it was well worth it!

Awaiting Twin Girls!! :: Raleigh, North Carolina

Being pregnant is one thing, but being pregnant with twins is a whole other ball game! Amy has recently delivered her beautiful baby girls, but before doing so, we were able to create a very short and simple photo shoot to capture her pregnancy. Her family now has three girls! WOA is what I have to say to that! I know how much of a pain I was when I was a teenager. I can only imagine the mischief three girls will bring on in the household when they are older. Fun times, right?! Sure 😉 I wish them all the best in the upcoming adventures and can’t wait to take some more beautiful photos of their family! Congrats Amy and Steve!

Nolan :: Raleigh, North Carolina

I was fortunate enough to meet my friends Jessica and Tyler at Pullen Park while they were visiting from out of town. Nolan, their son, recently turned 2 years old! He is full of energy, curious about everything, and loves to spend his time making his parents chase after him! Although we were only at the park for a short period of time, Nolan was able to play in the sandboxes, take a tour of the park on the train, enjoy a boat ride, play on the slides, and took a spin on the carousel. Prior to August, I hadn’t been to Pullen Park in a very long time, but I can tell you now that I have been recently, they have made many wonderful updates. It’s the perfect place to take your kids or just to enjoy a nice picnic with your significant other.

Jessica and Tyler’s friends joined along with their little girl as well and I maybe snapped a few photographs of their family too =) So, if you see a few random photos in the midst of it all, no worries, they are suppose to be there. haha.

Baby Aurora :: Fuquay-Varina, NC :: Newborn Photographer

Aurora was my very first newborn photo shoot! She was 1 week old! I love little toes, little noses, little fingers, cute cheeks, and pretty much everything there is to a baby. I was very excited to photograph Aurora. She was an angel during the entire photo shoot and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Bethany, her mom, originally wanted some photographs of Aurora to send to her husband, Matt, who was away and in the military. Luckily, he was able to return for the birth of his daughter. Prior to Aurora’s arrival, Matt painted a beautiful, bright painting for Aurora and her new bedroom. We were able to use the painting as a backdrop for some of the photos, which was perfect! The last photograph of the blog just melts my heart. Since Matt is away from home sometimes, this quote is left on the wall for the occasional reminder: “Life takes you to unexpected places. Love brings you home.”

Jasper’s facial expressions remind me of Calvin in Calvin and Hobbes..haha. It’s up in the air whether he’s going to be just as sneaky as Calvin, though. These pictures were taken when we all got together at the Murray beach house in Emerald Isle. It was Jasper’s first beach trip! Kelly and Trent Anniversary! :: Durham, North Carolina

The first time I met Kelly and Trent, they were making dinner for my friend’s Kate and Melissa. Right away, you could tell they were a pretty amazing couple. They are friendly, honest, funny, supportive, and giving people. Their love for one another is like no other. They laugh with and at each other. Couples who have fun together, last forever. I had a blast taking pictures of these two! Their facial expressions are classic!
