Ryan and Kamna’s Wedding :: Greensboro, North Carolina

For the last several years, I’ve been waiting eagerly for someone to ask me to photograph their backyard wedding. Finally, I was in luck!!! I am so thankful Kamna and Ryan asked me to photograph their absolutely beautiful wedding. It was perfect. The decorations, the lighting, and the set-up made for a serene and romantic atmosphere for the lovely couple. You could feel the love and support in the air. Everyone there was so happy and grateful to not only be at their wedding, but be a part of their lives. I had an amazing time. Congrats Kamna and Ryan!

Asheville and Plus Adventure :: Asheville, North Carolina

Back in April, Gillian and I vacationed with our good friends, Holly and Kelly. We had SO MUCH FUN! We explored Asheville, North Carolina. It is a place Gillian and I go to often and eventually, we hope to move there. Our mini vacation this time around included exploring the River Arts District , having breakfast at Sunny Point Cafe , having my very first glass blowing class at the Asheville Glass Center , meeting up with our good friend Gabe, staying at the Hot Springs Resort Campground, and hiking up to Max Patch .

Hanging out with Kelly and Holly always mean there will be a ton of laughter. They are super competitive- having short competitions throughout the entire weekend such as having a push-up and racing competition on the train tracks. They joke around with each other a lot and it’s fun to capture those special moments with them. I do have a lot of shots of the two of them during our vacation and Gillian got a tad jealous. lol. So…..she photo bombed quite a few photos with Kelly and Holly (see if you can notice which ones). Hint- one of them is not so obvious.

Good people. Good times. I couldn’t ask for a better mini vacation!

Super Smiley Cortland :: Durham, North Carolina

This kid has SO MUCH PERSONALITY! Cortland started the photo shoot off a little bit shy. He kept putting his hands to his face and sometimes over his mouth. However, by the end of the shoot, he was walking straight up to me, smiling his cute smile about a foot away from the camera!

It was a gorgeous day outside at Duke Gardens and Cortland’s parents did a wonderful job getting him to play with his slinky, throw acorns, pick up rocks, smell the flowers, and pose. One of his mom’s kept on saying “simply amazing” (or something of that sort from what I remember) and overemphasizing the amazing part. Cortland would start cheesing hard and laughing EVERY single time. It was so funny. He is definitely an athletic, goofy kid, with lots of energy. At the end of the shoot, he gave kisses out towards the lake. It was…..simply amazing. =)

Meet Newborn Baby Olivia :: Raleigh, North Carolina

So, Olivia is currently going on four months now, but back when I had this photo session, she was a beautiful newborn baby. I can tell you one thing for sure- this baby is loved! The day of the shoot, she was surrounded by lots of family oogling to hold her and spend time with her. Even the grandparents dog, who stared at Olivia through the door window of the back porch was begging to come in and be around her. There is so much warmth and love in that household. She is a very lucky baby to have such caring people in her life.

The Ku Family :: Raleigh, North Carolina

Although it was another cold day out at Pullen Park in Raleigh, North Carolina back when I had the Ku’s family photo session, things ran smoothly. The sky had intermittent rays of sunshine bursting through the clouds, families were having fun playing with their children on the playground, and the Ku family toughed it out when I asked them to walk to random places amongst the park. Trust is key during a photo shoot and Paul and Laura did nothing but that. I am thankful to have friends and clients like them! Landon is growing so quickly and I am thrilled I get to capture his growth and his parents love for him on camera.

The Beautiful Helmer Family :: Raleigh, North Carolina

Here I am catching up on some blog posts from earlier this year. I know I should be more on top of these things and it’s cliche to say I’ve been busy, but I HAVE BEEN BUSY. lol. Juggling athletic directing, teaching, camps, photography, and trying to slip in an occasional weekend adventure keeps me highly occupied. Anyhow, I had a blast photographing the Helmer family back in February at Pullen Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. Aurora is such a sweetheart and I absolutely LOVE her facial expressions. Despite it being cold out on the day of the shoot, Aurora was mostly all smiles. If she wasn’t smiling, she was putting on this curiosity, “are you crazy” look. Gillian was helping me out. Thus, she was pretty much dancing and making goofy faces at Aurora the entire time. Be sure to scroll through the entire post. The last picture is one of my favorites. No worries, that is a cheeto in her mouth (not a cigar)!

Camille and Carolina’s Family :: Durham, North Carolina

I met Camille and Carolina over a decade ago. They are fun, smart, athletic, and light-hearted individuals living life to the fullest in what better city than NYC (ok, other than Asheville of course. Asheville is #1. Just saying). I was thrilled to hear they were visiting the triangle area and would be bringing the rest of their family, two dogs and their beautiful girl, Noel. I was even more thrilled when they asked me to take their family portrait! Ummm….yes!

We all met at Duke Gardens and spent a few hours strolling through the area. Noel seemed to have had a blast. She played with sticks, climbed trees (with assistance from her parents), rolled down hills, ate cheerios off of stone, played in and climbed up the bamboo, critiqued her Aunt’s push-up form, and did an exercise/stretch routine with her moms. Can you believe it? She’s not yet in grade school, but already partaking in healthy habits.

Anyhow, here’s some photos of their session. I had so much fun and cannot wait to see them again!

Shane and Andrea’s Engagement :: Durham, North Carolina

These two were so much fun to photograph and talk about some chemistry! They couldn’t keep their hands off each other or stop from smiling, which makes my job super easy of course. We took a stroll through Sarah Duke Gardens and then off to Tyler’s Taproom to eat and take some photos in the American Tobacco Historic District. I am looking forward to their wedding later in the year. I already know there is going to be a lot of mischief, laughter, and good times! You just wait =)

Juan and Elizabeth’s Wedding :: Raleigh, North Carolina

Holy cannoli Juan and Elizabeth’s wedding!! Here are some words to describe their wedding- unique, vintage, sexy, fun, diverse, and vibrant! Their wedding was an 80’s prom themed wedding. Elizabeth’s dress was PINK. Yes, I said pink. Their main decorations during the ceremony and reception were balloons. Also, everyone there loved to dance and was good at dancing. I normally like to prance around dancing while taking photos during the reception, but I was sort of intimidated by everyone’s skills (especially break dancing skills). Juan and Elizabeth’s first dance was fabulous. Elizabeth changed into this amazing, sparkly, sexy dress. If I had any video footage of their dance, I would show you. It was lovely. In fact, I’m taking a guess, but Juan may have choreographed their own dance. He teaches dance lessons at Mucho Rhythm and helps engaged couples prepare for their big day.

Anyhow, here are some pictures of their wedding. Usually, I do not add rehearsal dinner photos, but I loved the atmosphere and the good times everyone had there. I’ve been to Centro in downtown Raleigh before, but hadn’t been upstairs. I completely fell in love with the place. The lighting, mood, decorations, and energy were superb.

Thank you 2&3 Photography for having me second shoot for you guys this wedding. I had a blast. Make sure you all check out 2&3 Photography’s amazing photos from Elizabeth and Juan’s wedding as well!

Ben and Lindsay’s Wedding :: Raleigh, North Carolina

Ben and Lindsay’s wedding rocked! It was located at the beautiful Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh, North Carolina. The entire day was filled with love, laughter, and all around good times. I was fortunate, too, to have a super awesome chica and photographer, Autumn, from Autumn Harrison Photography help photograph the wedding with me.

Some of the highlights of the wedding (in my opinion of course)- the simplicity of an “I love you” text before the ceremony between Ben and Lindsay, the Groom’s brother forgetting to come back and usher their mom during ceremony closing (oops…it happens), the fantastic cake smashing into each others faces, the sweet toasts, the very purposeful geometrical calculations and chatter between Ben and Lindsay during the garter toss, the crowd singing on top of their lungs to “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey, a nephew running around with a disposable camera taking many pictures (future photographer!!!), a pool table groom’s cake, and of course the cow bell playing by Ben and Lindsay when they went up on stage with the band at the end of the reception. All around, it was a fun night!

Ben and Lindsay- thank you so much for having me there for your wedding day! I wish you both all the happiness in the world =)
